Project 1
It was such a privilege to work on the gracious home. The true masonry structure, the rich architectural detailing, and the magnificent situation on the Lafayette River provided us with a wonderful palette from which to work from.
The home was in need of updating, some restoration, and addition of living space and car storage. Opening the kitchen to the den allowed for plenty of natural light and water views to permeate the space. This move required the removal of a three-story masonry fireplace and installation of a large steel beam. The results are well worth the efforts required.
The garage addition gave the owners room for two cars, plus a handymans area for small household projects. The new driveways, including one that required a right of way permit, graciously curve through the property. The landscaping and architectural style of the garage addition make it appear as if it were always there.
Throughout the home bathrooms were renovated and created, floors were refinished and walls papered or painted. The master bedroom saw new custom cabinetry and window seats. Every space was designed and outfitted by our allied member, ASID designer in collaboration with the owners who have a vast collection of original art and antiques.
